Hoshiarpur: A six-year-old child of a migrant labourer fell into a 300-feet deep borewell in the fields of Bairampur Khyala village of Gadhdiwala in Hoshiarpur.

Hoshiarpur: A six-year-old child of a migrant labourer fell into a 300-feet deep borewell in the fields of Bairampur Khyala village of Gadhdiwala in Hoshiarpur. The incident happened around 10 am. The child's parents were working in the fields and the child was playing nearby.

During this, a dog fell behind the child. To escape from him, the child ran and climbed two and a half feet high pipe near the open borewell and fell on his head in the borewell. It is said that the motor of about 300 feet deep borewell was taken out for repair due to failure.

According to the people around, an iron lid was also mounted on the pipe, which may have been taken by someone. As soon as the information was received, the Gaddiwala Police and the people of the area reached the spot. It is estimated that the child is stuck at a depth of about 100 feet.  


Oxygen is being delivered to the child by putting a pipe in the borewell. According to the information, the NDRF team has left for Hoshiarpur from Sangrur for relief and rescue work.
