The wait is now over! Housefull 5 has finally hit the big screen today on 6 June 2025 after much anticipation. Following the trailer launch event on May 27, 2025, and the announcement of the big surprise consisting of a dual ending of the film, it has gained massive popularity over the internet and among the fans of the Housefull franchise.
What’s new and how is it different from the prequels of the Housefull franchise?
Marking the fifth chapter in the beloved Housefull saga, this film continues the franchise's legacy of delivering boundless comedy, thrilling excitement, and endless entertainment designed to leave audiences in stitches. With each of its prequels—Housefull 1, 2, 3, and 4—constantly filling theaters and garnering immense public affection, this new installment arrives with towering expectations.
The housefull series has been commercially successful, grossing over Rs. 800 crore worldwide and is as well currently the highest grossing comedy franchise in Indian Cinema. Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, with a budget of more than Rs. 250 crores, Housefull 5 is the first series in the comedic saga to explore the theme of murder-mystery along with the exciting dual-climax ending. The synopsis of Housefull 5 explicitly reads “ In this murder mystery comedy, several imposters claiming to be the son of the recently deceased billionaire compete for his fortune aboard a luxury cruise ship”.
Cast, Plot, and Dual Climax Explained
Starring a notable star ensemble, including Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh,Chunky Pandey, Johny Lever, Bargis Fakhri, Jackie Shroff, Sanjay Dutt, Chitrangada Singh, Fardeen Khan, Sonam Bajwa, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Nana Patekar, the film is a features a thrilling, comedic and exciting murder mystery plot in which the identity of the killer will be revealed in the climax. Producer Sajid Nadiawala revealed that the killer in both the versions would be different, however the rest of the movie would be exactly the same, except the 15-20 minutes climax of the movie.
The climax of the film was shot 2 times and would release in the theaters simultaneously, however the choice is all yours as to which version (Housefull 5A OR Housefull 5B) you choose to watch first as both the versions would conclude differently with two different killers in each version.

The dual climax ending is an experimental yet a genius move as it might result in both increased engagement and popularity of the movie but also confusion in the minds of the audience, however, producer Sajid exclaims that it could be a “win-win” situation for both the viewers and the makers resulting in high profits and audience engagement. The user reviews of the movie across various platforms are somewhat conflicting, some found it unoriginal and unnecessarily loud while some enjoyed the comedic timing of Akshay Kumar and overall experience. Some of the reviews across various platforms read “The ending of Housefull 5 seems like someone cooked Maggi at 3 am. No logic…just copied from the first four movies. The movie was so intellectual that the brain refused to participate” while another user wrote, “What a beautifully crafted movie. The comedy of Akshay Kumar, his comic timing is just too good and I think he overshadows the rest of the star cast ....” another reviewer suggests “Housefull 5 is a pure mix of comedy plus thrilling aspects. This is easily the best film of the franchise but it has some flaws. But overall the film leaves you in splits with amazing comedy all the time”.
