How much more expensive are flights now? Blocked roads & farmers protest cause ticket prices to skyrocket

Passengers going from Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport, Mohali to Chandigarh-Delhi are having to pay huge amount as tickets.

Due to the gathering of farmer groups near the border areas and highways with their demands and the barricades put up by the police and administration, people are facing a lot of trouble in traveling between Chandigarh and Delhi. Meanwhile, passengers going from Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport, Mohali to Chandigarh-Delhi are having to pay huge amount as tickets.

 

According to information, the ticket rate has become almost five times above the normal rate. Air ticket from Chandigarh to Delhi and ticket from Delhi to Chandigarh earlier where on normal days it is around Rs. 3,000. Whereas for February 13, it was Rs 9,104 to Rs 17,021.

 

According to the current information, this huge increase in the ticket will remain for the next three days and on February 21, it will come down to its normal rate of Rs 3,018. At the same time, there is a shortage of tickets in flights connected to Delhi. There are a total of 9 flights connected to Delhi at the airport. An airline at the airport is also flying two additional flights on the Chandigarh-Delhi route on February 12, 13 and 14.

 

People who have to go out of Chandigarh for some important work and cannot delay their journey are also buying tickets at expensive prices. Due to the farmers' Delhi Chalo March on 13th February, a lot of problems are being created on the highways. Police have barricaded roads near the borders in Punjab, Haryana and Delhi. On the other hand, the train going to Delhi is also completely full.
