In a shocking incident, Haryana chief of the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) Nafe Singh Rathee on late Sunday night was shot dead by unknown assailants in Jhajjar district. Nafe Singh Rathee's SUV was tailed by shooters and they surrounded him and sprayed bullets on his vehicle. During the Nafe Singh Rathee firing, several security personnel suffered severe injuries. As per reports, Nafe Singh Rathee's murder took place when the INLD chief was traveling in an SUV and that is when the assailants, who were in another car, attacked him in Jhajjar's Bahadurgarh town. Apart from Nafe Singh, another party leader was reportedly killed in the attack. Interestingly, Nafe Singh Rathee's murder brings a Deja Vu on how Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala was killed by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. 

 

How Nafe Singh Rathee was killed in Sidhu Moose Wala manner?

The way of the murder of Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) Chief Nafe Singh Rathee in Haryana is similar to the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala. Both the murders were carried out in the same style. Nafe Singh Rathee was shot dead near Barahi railway gate in Bahadurgarh in Jhajjar district on Sunday evening when he was going somewhere in his Fortuner car. Meanwhile, Punjab's famous singer Sidhu Moosewala was shot dead near his house in Moosewala village on the evening of May 29, 2022. Notably, no gang has taken responsibility of killing Nafe Singh Rathee, however, the way of killing is similar to what Lawrence Bishnoi's gang adapted to kill the Punjabi singer. 

 

Reacting to the case, Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij said, "...I have asked the officials to take immediate action in this matter. STF has also swung into action...The incident is being investigated."

 

Who was Nafe Singh Rathee?

 

Nafe Singh Rathee was a former MLA from Bahadurgarh and served as INLD chief for two terms. He was also the President of the ex-MLA Association of Haryana. As per reports, Rathee had been receiving death threats over the past few days. Nafe Singh Rathee was regarded as a prominent Jat leader hailing from Jatwada Bahadurgarh in Haryana's Jhajjar district. He had a significant political career and played a pivotal role in Haryana's legislative landscape. Also, he served as a Member of the 9th and 10th Haryana Legislative Assembly, representing the Bahadurgarh constituency.
