Pariksha Pe Charcha 2024 took place on Monday (January 29, 2024) with Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacting with students and teachers of India. The specialty of Pariksha Pe Charcha with PM Modi is the one-to-one interaction of the Prime Minister with students of India and teachers who are all set to take exams. For Pariksha Pe Charcha 2024 with PM Modi over 205.62 lakh students, over 14.93 lakh teachers, and over 5.69 lakh parents have registered. The event took place at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. PM Modi was asked by multiple teachers how could they help their students who are going through distress due to exam pressure. Below is an excerpt of what PM Modi said-

"First of all music alone can drive away tensions. I think wherever a teacher thinks about how to drive away the tension of their student. If the relationship between a student and a teacher is limited to exams, then it should be changed. From day 1 when a student enters a school, a teacher should always try to know him. If they do this, then students won't be tense during exams.

I want to ask whether a student ever calls a teacher asking if he or she is going through some problems. No, the reason is the students ' relationship with the teacher is only related to subjects. If the teacher tries to develop a more emotional relationship then a student always shares his or her problem.

For example, there are two types of doctors. One doctor is quite professional another calls the patients after a few days and asks his patients if they are fine. Suppose a student performs well. If a teacher goes to his students' home and tells their parents about their good performance then a family relationship will be developed."

How to tackle societal pressure before Board Exams?

PM Modi also gave students how they can tackle exam pressure and distress. He said, "This question has always been asked for the past 7 episodes in different ways. It means every batch suffers through the same problem...We cannot switch off ourselves to stay away from pressure and negativity. We should make ourselves capable. We should accept that such things keep on coming and therefore we have to adapt to the situation. For example, if we are going to cold places, then we prepare our minds before going. But when we go there and we don't feel that much cold then we feel relaxed. It means we have to accept and make up our minds. "
