The returned passengers to India were mostly from Punjab and about 25% were from Gujarat. Most of them had valid Nicaraguan visas. Punjab and Gujarat Police have started their investigation in the infamous Human Trafficking Plane France incident. Now, those who still don't have any idea regarding the Human Trafficking Plane France, below is everything you need to know about the controversy-

How did Human Trafficking Plane France come to the fore?

As per reports, an Airbus A340 carrying 276 passengers, mostly Indians, landed in Mumbai early this morning, following a four-day detention in France over suspected human trafficking allegations. As per French authorities,  276 passengers had boarded the flight, while 27 individuals, including five minors, remained on French soil seeking asylum.

When the 'Donkey' flight landed in Vatry,  it was found that there were 11 unaccompanied minors among 303 passengers. The stranded passengers were provided with makeshift beds, access to toilets and showers, and meals, along with hot drinks, in the halls of Vatry airport during the four-day ordeal.

The Airbus charter flight from Dubai reportedly landed at the French airport, which is around 160 km from Paris, to refuel. It was then grounded after a tip-off the passengers were 'likely to be victims of human trafficking'.

While the French Police stated that it foiled a potential human trafficking bid, Indian authorities belie that it is a case of the infamous donkey flight used in illegal immigration. However, the Gujarat police formed teams to investigate the network that operated behind the foiled trafficking bid. The passengers from Gujarat belonged to Banaskantha, Patan, Mehsana and Anand districts.

On the other hand, Punjab Police officials were quoted saying that the Punjabi passengers on the flight had valid visas for Nicaragua.
