It is said that a mother cannot see her child in pain ever, however, when it comes to the matter of survival in wildlife, some saying often becomes false. A German photographer, Jens Cullman, snapped some heartbreaking images of a baby elephant being eaten alive by hyenas.
Both mother and baby elephant were stuck in the mud when a pack of hyenas attacked baby elephant. The incident took place in Zimbabwe. The pack of hyenas ripped baby elephant's leg during the attack, mother elephant stuck in mud tried to throw mud however it was of no use.
Later mother elephant died as well, along with corpses of her child.
