Who was real-life Sivasaran, aka One‑Eyed Jack?
Sivasaran's real name was Chandrasekharampillai Packiachandran. Sivasaran was termed as the mastermind of then-PM Rajiv Gandhi. As per DailyMirror Sri Lanka, Sivasaran hailed from Udupiddy, a town about 32 km from Jaffna City and about 3 km inland from coastal Valvettithurai the hometown of Prabhakaran.
Packiachandran’s father was Chandrasekharampillai, a teacher of English at the Udupiddy American Mission School. Chandrasekharam Pillai lived in the northern part of the town near the Veerapathirar Temple. Packiyachandran was born in 1958, the year of the first major anti-Tamil program in Sri Lanka. He was the eldest child and had three brothers and two sisters, all younger to him.
Rajiv Gandhi's assassination was carried out due to personal animosity of the LTTE chief Prabhakaran towards Rajiv Gandhi, arising from his sending the Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF) to Sri Lanka.
For the unversed, former Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated by the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam(LTTE) at a place called Sriperumbhudur in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu on May 21st, 1991.
