'Extremely Powerful' Hurricane Ian on Thursday made landfall in southwest Florida, USA damaging homes, uprooting trees, and overturning vehicles along the coast near Cayo Costa, west of heavily populated Fort Myers. Florida which is already on high alert saw a 'dangerous' storm taking at least 2 lives, affecting the power supply to 8.3 lakh people, and swallowing a ship in the river. With Hurricane Ian wreaking havoc in Florida, the media of the United States are sharing multiple videos and trying to make their news channel stand out from others. Amidst Hurrinace Ian sweeping over Florida, a journalist and meteorologist named Dylan Federico of South West Florida's WINK News was brutally trolled and slammed on social media for his 'insensitive' behaviour.

Reportedly, meteorologist Dylan Federico who was covering horrific videos of Hurricane Ian shot a video of a kitten struggling to stand amidst an 'extremely powerful' storm. In the video shared by Dylan, the kitten was trying hard to survive the storm, however, the meteorologist did not think of the animal's life but decided to get views first. This means, Dylan did not help the kitten but he shot her struggling, and furthermore, he felt it better to Tweet the video first rather than helping the innocent animal. As a result, the kitten could not hold its ground and it went with the stream.

Here's Florida Weatherman's Viral Post

Two posts of Dylan have been going viral. In the first post the WINK News weatherman writes, "Storm surge is rising rapidly outside WINK News. A kitten is on the bench trying to escape the water. The doors are locked but we are trying to get the kitten inside." In another post Dylan wrote, "Right after the video was posted we attempted to get the cat but it swam in a different direction out of view. I waited to post an update in hopes we could grab it. Please take your companions with you when you evacuate."

Netizens slam Florida weatherman

After Dylan's post went viral on social media, one user wrote, "One of my coworkers worked at WINK and she texted a friend there asking if the kitten got saved. Their reply was " I don't think so. " and then "It didn't survive." Is this true?!?!"

Another user wrote, "Disgusted I am. He should have never posted that video without at least an attempt FIRST to save the kitte"

Hurricane Ian

Meanwhile, Air Force hurricane hunters explained that Hurricane Ian gained abominable strength over warm Gulf of Mexico water after tattering the island of Cuba and smashing the country's electricity grid, plunging the entire island into the dark. Ian was centred about 60 miles west-southwest of Naples when Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis warned that it is going to be "a nasty nasty day, two days."
