Hyderabad: Burqa-clad women vandalise Goddess Durga Mata idol & Pandal in viral video; arrested

In an attempt to disturb communal harmony, 2 burqa-clad women on Tuesday were arrested after they were caught by locals trying to vandalise Goddess Durga Idol in a pandal in Hyderabad. Hyderabad Burqa Women Durga Pandal vandalism took place at a pandal in Khairatabad and ever since then netizens have been fuming over the incident. The Hyderabad Burqa Women Durga Pandal vandalism came at a time when the entire India is preparing to celebrate Navratri and Durga Puja 2022. Reportedly, the two women attacked a local with a spanner after he tried to stop them. The 2 burqa-clad women were caught by locals who were trying fully vandalise the Durga Idol and were handed over to the Police.

As per reports, the Police arrested the two women and stated that both of them are behaving weirdly and therefore an investigation is underway. Interestingly, the women who were caught vandalising Goddess Durga Idol were also seen vandalising Mary Idol at Rock Church in Hyderabad. Moreover, CCTV footage has also surfaced on social media showing the two women before the incident. In the viral CCTV footage, the two women can be seen walking on the busy streets of Khairatabad and entering the Durga Pandal. In the background it can be heard that one of the women tried to flee from the spot, however, she was caught. In another CCTV footage, those same women were seen vandalising Mary Idol at Rock Church in Hyderabad.

Netizens fume at Goddess Durga Idol vandalism

After the video went viral, one user wrote, "Either they are not from Hyderabad...Misguided from someone Or they are not Muslims...there can be anything if they are proper hydrbdi they will not do this for sure..."

Another user wrote, "Let the Police do their job...why tweet to create a general feeling that all muslims are bad???? Also, I wonder if someone really had to vandalise why would they do dressed in a Burqa...isn't that so obvious???? Is there more to this story???"
