It has been quite journey for Kangana in Bollywood. In a recent interview, Kangana made revelations as she recalled her initial days. During the interview she revealed that she was offered a flick titled 'I Love You Boss' produced by the former CBFC Chairman Pahlaj Nihalani. As a part of the film, she was asked to wear a robe without any undergarments. 

The Manikarnika actress recollecting the incident said, "The fact that people met and promised to guide and help me, but then I was put under house-arrest. And then Pahlaj Nihalani had offered me a film called I Love You Boss. They had a photoshoot where they gave me a robe to wear, and no undergarments. So, I just had a satin robe for a show-girl pose, from which I had to stick my leg out, coming out of darkness." However, she continued with the photoshoot but quit it midway. Known for portrayal of strong characters on screen, Kangana described her role as "a soft-porn sort of character".

Pahlaj Nihalani lashed out at Kangana for alleging that he offered her a "soft-porn sort of character" in his production I Love You Boss. Hitting back at her the former CBFC Chairman said, "After she struggled for five years, I signed her for three films and was introducing her in I Love You Boss. I narrated the story and gave her the reference of the photoshoot, which I wanted to do in a big way." He also said that he did not even attend the shoot.

Known for starting the debate on nepotism in Bollywood, Kangana was offered Anurag Basu's 2006 film Gangster and Puri Jagannadh's Telugu film Pokiri, alongside Mahesh Babu. However, she picked Gangster as her debut project. Last seen in Rani Lakshmi Bai's biopic Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi, Kangana has projects like Mental Hai Kya?, Panga and Jayalalitha's biopic in her pocket.
