Farmers protests continue at several borders of Delhi. The protesting farmers are adamant on their demands of scrapping all the three farm laws. The Central Government has sent a draft proposal to a representative group of farmers unions.

The draft proposal has been sent to 13 farm union leaders, including Joginder Singh Urgrahan of BKU (Ekta Ugrahan), one of the biggest among nearly 40 agitating unions.

Rakesh Tikait Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) national spokesperson, who is amongst the many union leaders who are participating in the negotiations with the government said, "Farmer unions have received the draft proposal from the government.”

" We'll strategise in our meeting & discuss their (Centre) proposal. Farmers won't go back, it's a matter of their respect. Will the government not withdraw the laws? Will there be tyranny? If the Govt is stubborn, so are farmers. Law has to be withdrawn, said Rakesh Tikait.

Another farmer leader  Kanwalpreet Singh Pannu, from Kisan Sangharsh Committee, Punjab said that they demand to repeal all the three farm laws. If the proposal sent mentions only about amendments in the law then it will get rejected.

"It is not the farmers but the government that is prolonging the protest. The government knows our demands and knows well about our peaceful demonstration, said the Unit president of  BKU from Rajeev Nagar, the Gautam Buddh Nagar adding that the government can easily address our concerns and this protest will come to an end as “we do not want to sit here for long, we have got our farms and cattle to look after.”
