Illegal Mining Case: Rs. 3 crores recovered in raids conducted in Punjab’s Ropar by Jalandhar-based ED teams

Jalandhar-based teams of the Enforcement Directorate on 29th May i.e. Wednesday started conducting raids at 13 different locations in Punjab’s Ropar (Rupnagar). These raids are being conducted under the illegal mining case. The raids are still going on and search is underway.

As per the ED officials, they got information that illegal mining was being done on the land attached by the Enforcement Directorate. The illegal mining also included nearby areas of Ropar. They further added that the land being used was attached by ED in the infamous Bhola Drug Case. Till now cash of 3 crores has been recovered in the raids. The people involved in the case are Shree Ram stone crushers, Nasibchand also known as Mining Mafia and many others. This case is called the Bhola Drug Case to identify ‘wrestler-turned, politician-turned Drug mafia Jagdish Singh alias Bhola.  

The Bhola Drug Case is going through a crucial stage of trial before the Special Prevention of Money Laundering Act court. For the unversed, Jagdish Singh alias Bhola was arrested in January 2014 under the Special Prevention of Money Laundering Act. This case pertains to a multi-crore synthetic narcotics racket that was busted during the year 2013-2014 in Punjab.
