Narinder Singh, Government Senior Secondary School, Kirtowal Kalan, Tarn Tarn took the initiatives ofbeautification of campus and quality education in the the pastone year after the Introductory Training on “Motivation and Leadership”conducted by Indian School of Business (ISB). Such examples are galore and willbe presented and shared by the participants during the three-day training beingconducted by the prestigious Indian School of Business.
Bharti Institute of Public Policy (BIPP) at Indian School of Business launchedthe Refresher Online Workshop on 23rdFeb, 2021 for directly recruitedPrincipals of Senior Secondary Schoolsof Punjab School Education Department,selectedthrough Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC).150 participants willbetrained during the refresher workshop. The module is a consequent course, aftera year of initial trainings for this group of Principals
As per Dr Aarushi Jain, Associate Director, Indian School of Business,as course coordinator of this training, “The current pandemic has posed a hugechallenge for every sector and education sector has been equally impacted. Theworkshop is a part of an overarching project titled ‘Improving Quality ofEducation in Punjab’, that ISB is undertaking with the Department of School Education,Punjab”. “The school level initiatives taken by Principals during thischallenging time are commendable and exemplary”, she added.
The unique initiative is among the various dynamic steps undertaken byMr Krishan Kumar, Secretary, Department of School Education, Punjab.The idea is to orient and provide appropriate direction toprincipals who are atthe beginning of their careers. The training has been designed with a specialfocus on critical roles of principals as decision-makers, team leadersand otherfunctional areas. The goal is to build capacities in government schools in thestate and provide the newly recruited principals much needed impetus andexposure on management concepts.
Senior faculty members from ISB and experts from the education sector arethe experts for the training. Prof Doreswamy Nandkishore, ISB who is a topcorporate leader will discuss aspects around Adaptive Leadership and ChangeManagement and Prof Rajeshwar Upadhyay, Director, Par Excellence is focussingon Emotional Intelligence and Interpersonal Relationship, during the training.Dr Aarushi Jain, Associate Director, use case method and simulation to helpparticipants understand the team building process and group dynamics. ProfVijaya Sunder, Operations Management faculty at ISB will be taking expertsessions on Project Management during this training.
Prof Ashwini Chhatre, Executive Director, Bharti Institute of PublicPolicy, ISB laid emphasis on the commitment of institute to work closely withthe governments and provide management insightsto Government Officials toimprove public service delivery at the grassroots.
