The Income Tax department on Monday morning raided famous Punjabi singer Kanwar Grewal’s house early this morning. The IT team reached his residence at Taj Towers, Sector 104 in Mohali.
CRPF jawans were deployed outside his residence to restrict the movement and an investigation was carried out. As per sources the singer was questioned regarding the interference of gangsters in Punjabi music industry and their alleged links with some singers as well as threats issued to them. There are speculations that NIA carried out the raids but as per the close sources not NIA but Income Tax department raided his residence. Officials have not given any information regarding the statement.
Reportedly, the IT department started its investigation at Ranjit Bawa’s residence early in the morning. The raid took place at 4 places in Batala and from then movement inside the residence is completely restricted. Along with this heavy police force has been deployed outside Ranjeet Bawa’s residence. IT along with the residence of Ranjit Bawa has also raided his PA Deputy Vohra’s house.
