Melbourne: The Australian team is on the verge of losing the third test of the India-Australia series with India needing just 2 wickets to win and gain an unassailable lead of 2-1 in the ongoing test series. The Australians are 258 for the loss of 8 wickets with 141 more runs still required to win. The Australian tail has somehow survived the disciplined Indian bowling with Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon on crease.
Pat Cummins was the only Australian batsman playing out courageously scoring 61 runs.
Earlier in the day, India declared their innings on 106 for the loss of 8 wickets and set an improbable target of 399 to the Australians on a difficult pitch on which the Indian bowlers are extracting a lot of help.
The weather forecast for tomorrow is 90% rain which means there is a chance of rain-gods saving the Australia from an, otherwise, almost obvious defeat.
