Sir Jadeja made a Splash

Ravindra Jadeja scored an unbeaten 175 off 228 balls while batting brilliantly. This was his best performance in Test cricket. He completed the 150-run mark for the first time in Test cricket by hitting a six.

This is the second century of Jadeja's Test career and his 11th century in first-class cricket. Earlier, Sir Jadeja had scored an unbeaten 100 against West Indies in 2018. Jadeja scored both his centuries of Test cricket while batting at number 7. Jadeja celebrated the century with a sword in his style. Mohammad Siraj was also seen wielding a sword outside his sight-seeing boundary line.

Jadeja, who played an unbeaten 175, broke Kapil's record, batting at number 7 in Test cricket, becoming the Indian player to play the biggest innings. He broke Kapil Dev's record. Kapil Dev scored 163 runs in 1986 against Sri Lanka in Kanpur Test.

Jadeja became a part of the special club

with this Ravindra Jadeja has become the second Indian in international cricket to take 400 wickets apart from scoring 5000 runs. Before him, this feat was done by Kapil Dev. Apart from scoring 9031 runs in Tests and ODIs, Kapil took 687 wickets.

Ravichandran Ashwin, who came out to bat at number 8, batte brilliantly. The star all-rounder completed the 12th half-century of his career in just 67 balls. He returned to the pavilion after playing an innings of 61 runs. Ashwin's wicket came in Suranga Lakmak's account.
  • Ashwin (61) was the 11th century of his Test career and the third half-century against Sri Lanka.
  • Ashwin (61) was his best score against Sri Lanka.
  • Jadeja and Ashwin added 130 runs in 174 balls for the 7th wicket.
  • Jadeja and Ashwin batted together for the first time and played a century partnership. Jadeja-Ashwin (130) This is the highest partnership for India against Sri Lanka for the 7th wicket.

Team India made a record

This is only the fourth time in the history of Test cricket when the top eight batsmen of the team have scored 25+ scores in a Test inning. Interestingly, India had done this for the last time against England in 2007.

To pay tribute to Rod Marsh & Shane Warne

Rod Marsh and Shane Warne, both the India and Sri Lanka teams observed a minute's silence before the start of the second day's play. Along with this, the players of both the teams have come on the field with black bands on their hands. On the first day of the Mohali Test, Kumara bowled 10.5 overs and took 1 wicket for 52 runs.

Lahiru Kumara

Injured Sri Lankan team has been in trouble in the Mohali Test. Fast bowler Lahiru Kumara will no longer be seen bowling in this Test match due to injury. Lahiru suffered a hamstring injury on the first day of the Test match, after which he had to leave the field. It was expected that he would be seen bowling for the team on the second day. But, now it is reported that he may take about two weeks to recover from his hamstring injury while bowling further in the Mohali Test.

Kohli's 100th Test

during the 8 Hazari match, former Indian captain Virat Kohli completed his 8000 runs in the Test format. Kohli achieved this feat in Tests with the 38th run of the innings.

Virat Kohli has become the 6th player from India to score 8,000 Test runs for Team India. Before him, only Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman and Virender Sehwag have achieved this feat.

A century was expected from Kohli in the 100th Test, but he was bowled by Lasith Embuldeniya for 45 runs. He added 90 runs for the third wicket with Hanuma Vihari. Now once again a century is expected from Kohli in the second innings.
