India breaks record as more than 1.5 crore Indians upload videos singing national anthem
More than 1.5 croreIndians across the world uploaded their videos singing the national anthem onsocial media. According to the Ministry of Culture, the huge responseregistered a never done before record on the occasion of the 75thIndependence Day.
The Ministry ofCulture said in a statement on August 14 that many announced their joyfulparticipation in 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav', which is being observed today.
Indians across theglobe uploaded videos singing 'Jana Gana Mana' and managed to set a new record.
"This isevidence of the inherent unity, strength, and harmony of India," said theministry.
Referring to PMModi's appeal to Indians on July 25, the ministry added, 'Like a mantra, theinvitation call permeated through the hearts and minds of the people of Indiawho together have now created history and an unbeatable record.'
The unbeatable recordwas achieved after the ministry made the announcement asking allIndians, age no bar, to submit their videos on the website by August 15. Whatwas truly brilliant was that everyone, artists and citizens, came together tosing the national anthem.
"When Indianssitting in a corner, thousands of miles away, sang the national anthem inprivate, their voices embodied the pride of one hundred and thirty-six crorecitizens of India. The fact that more than 15 million entries were achieved injust twenty-one days is in itself living proof that when the people of Indiaput their heart to something, no goal is difficult or unachievable," theministry stated.
"The nationalanthem is a symbol of our pride. This program of singing the national anthemhas not only created enthusiasm among all but the whole world has also got themessage of strong unity of India," added the Ministry.
