Independence-day Rashtragaan National-anthem

More than 1.5 crore Indians across the world uploaded their videos singing the national anthem on social media. According to the Ministry of Culture, the huge response registered a never done before record on the occasion of the 75th Independence Day.

The Ministry of Culture said in a statement on August 14 that many announced their joyful participation in 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav', which is being observed today.

Indians across the globe uploaded videos singing 'Jana Gana Mana' and managed to set a new record.

"This is evidence of the inherent unity, strength, and harmony of India," said the ministry.

Referring to PM Modi's appeal to Indians on July 25, the ministry added, 'Like a mantra, the invitation call permeated through the hearts and minds of the people of India who together have now created history and an unbeatable record.'

The unbeatable record was achieved after the ministry made the announcement asking all Indians, age no bar, to submit their videos on the website by August 15. What was truly brilliant was that everyone, artists and citizens, came together to sing the national anthem.

"When Indians sitting in a corner, thousands of miles away, sang the national anthem in private, their voices embodied the pride of one hundred and thirty-six crore citizens of India. The fact that more than 15 million entries were achieved in just twenty-one days is in itself living proof that when the people of India put their heart to something, no goal is difficult or unachievable," the ministry stated.

"The national anthem is a symbol of our pride. This program of singing the national anthem has not only created enthusiasm among all but the whole world has also got the message of strong unity of India," added the Ministry.
