The first case of Covid-19 was recorded in India onSaturday, January 30 last year. According to a report published in Times ofIndia, the country dropped at number four on Friday regarding the death tollfrom the virus with Mexico surpassing India's cumulative toll.
Mexico's Covid toll topped 1,55,000 with over 15,00deaths reported in the past 24 hours. As per reports, there is a considerabledrop in the number of deaths in India.
India has been reporting less than 200 deaths every dayfor over 14 days now. Daily toll in America hovers around 5,000 and some of thecountries have daily toll of over 1,000. Till Thursday, US has recorded maximumdeaths due to Covid-19 to 4.4 lakh.
The cases of Covid-19 rose in India from late August toOctober last year. India now has recorded over 13,000 fresh cases and at least133 deaths in the past 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the country has already rolled out vaccines:Covishield and Covaxin with mass inoculation drive starting from January 16.
