India, in their first meeting with Pakistan officials related with Kartarpur Corridor, sought a visa-free access for 5000 Indian citizens and pilgrims who are to visit Kartarpur Sahib.
The meeting was held on Indo-Pak border between the area of Gurdaspur and Kartarpur Sahib where the Indian delegation conveyed this to Pakistan officals suggesting the Kartarpur Corridor to be open seven days a week and the Pakistan government allowing the Indian pilgrims to travel on foot.
This was the first meeting which has been termed 'successful' by the Ministry of Home Affairs, suggesting that the Indian pilgrims' entry through Kartarpur Corridor should be "Absolutely Visa Free".

"The first meeting to discuss the modalities and the draft agreement for facilitation of pilgrims to visit Gurudwara Kartarpur Sahib using the Kartarpur corridor was held today at Attari, India, in a cordial environment" said the statement by Ministry of Home Affairs.
This meeting took place amid the heightened tensions between the countries after the Pakistan based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed took responsibility of the Pulwama terror attack after which India carried out Airstrikes.
