Tensions seem to be gripping between India and Pakistan yet again as a newspaper stated that the Indian Army carried Surgical Strike 3.0 against the terrorists and destroyed multiple launchpads. The newspaper report claimed that the Indian Army entered approx 2.5 KM from Rajauri-Poonch Sector into POK and killed 8 terrorists. Not only this, the Indian Army even destroyed 4 terror launching pads inside Pakistan. Notably, the report claimed that the launchpad was continuously trying to send terrorists inside India through the LoC. The report further claimed that the Indian Army who were involved in Surgical Strike 3.0 returned back to the base in India safely after completing their mission successfully. While India's Surgical Strike 3.0 is buzzing on social media, India's Ministry of Defence has refuted it.

A newswire quoted a spokesperson from the Ministry of Defence who did not confirm India's latest surgical strike. The Ministry of Defence's official statement said that Indian Army foiled an infiltration bid by Pakistan on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Balakote Sector, clarifying that it was not a surgical strike, as claimed. As per Defence Ministry's Official statement on Monday morning, two terrorists were detected by alert troops to be making attempts to cross the LoC onto the Indian side, “making use of inclement weather, dense fog, thick foliage, and undulating ground in Hamirpur area of Balakote Sector." Below is what the Ministry of Defence said-

“Intelligence Inputs received from Multiple Intelligence agencies and Jammu and Kashmir Police revealed the presence of terrorists waiting to cross the LC from opposite own Balakote Sector. Based on these inputs own surveillance grid was placed on heightened alert and multiple ambushes were sited at suitable location," the ministry’s statement read adding, "However effective fire resulted in one terrorist falling down on the ground near the LoC. Additional troops were then moved into the area and search operations commenced in the afternoon after improvement of weather conditions and visibility."

Notably, during the search operation, Indian Army recovered an AK 47 rifle with two magazines, 30 rounds, two grenades, and Pak-origin medicines. It is pertinent to mention here that Indian Army's cross-fire forced the terrorists returned back to Pakistan by using weather and ground conditions. A newswire quoted an Indian Army Spokesperson saying that the two terrorists were killed while attempting to infiltrate across the LoC in Poonch district on Monday. The bodies of the slain terrorists could not be retrieved as they managed to flee across the LoC before succumbing to their injuries, suffered during a gunfight with the Army.
