Opener PrithviShaw, middle-order batsman Suryakumar Yadav and off-spinner Jayant Yadav arelikely to join the Indian Test team in England as replacements forinjured players.

The Indian teammanagement had asked for two openers and one off-spinner as replacements forthe three injured players; opener Shubman Gill, all-rounder Washington Sundar andfast bowler Avesh Khan.

A senior BCCI office-bearersaid, "Yes, Prithvi and Surya are flying to the UK from Sri Lanka. Jayantwas also supposed to go but there has been some change in plans due toquarantine requirements. Jayant is now not going. Both players will have abubble to bubble transfer from Colombo to London. Whether they will fly in themiddle of the T20 Internationals (Shaw and and Suryakumar are part of team inSri Lanka) or post that is being worked out.”

"But yes, theyare our replacement players for Test series in England. They might just leaveafter the three T20 Internationals but we will get confirmation in anotherthree days."

"In any case, ifAjinkya misses the first Test, it will be K. L. Rahul who will bat in themiddle order in Nottingham. The team management is still confident that Ajinkyamight be all right before the Nottingham Test."

Ajinkya Rahane hassuffered a hamstring injury and he wasn’t taking part in the warm-up gameagainst the County selected XI. This could create a hurdle for team India.

As per IndianExpress, the board has changed its mind and the requested players will be sentto England. BCCI is currently making plans to fly them to England after the SriLanka series ends on July 29.
