Despite India summoning Canada's High Commissioner Cameron MacKay and expressing their concerns over the security of Indian diplomats, the pro-Khalistan rally named 'Kill India' is all set to go ahead on July 8. The Pro-Khalistan outfits have called out rallies in support of the slain KTF leader Hardeep Nijjar and also they accused three Indian diplomats of carrying out his killing. With the Khalistani rally directly threatening the Indian diplomats, Canada still did not refuse it from happening. Not only in Canada, the 'Kill India' rally is also slated to take place in the US and the UK. The rally has called out for raising funds for India's most wanted Hardeep Nijjar who recently was shot dead in Surrey. In Canada, the rally is set to start at Great Punjab Business Centre and will end at Indian Embassy at Toronto.

Notably, reports suggest that designated terrorist and SFJ convener G S Pannu has been sighted in the Greater Toronto area. Interestingly, a few days back multiple reports stated that SFJ terrorist Pannun has died in a car accident in the USA. Coming back to the Khalistan rally, it is worth noting that the Indian diplomats in Canada, the US and the UK have been given full protection by the law enforcement agencies even though the political leadership of at least Canada is justifying the protest in the name of freedom of speech. Ironically, the government has provided the Indian diplomats with security but they have not taken any action against the 'anti-India' Khalistani elements who are openly threatening to target the diplomats.

Reports suggest that the countries came into action of providing security to the Indian diplomats after the Narendra Modi government cautioned that if any untoward incident take place then it might hamper the bilateral ties. India's External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar had cautioned the countries, especially the Canadian government. On that, Canada assured the safety of Indian diplomats ahead of the 'Khalistan Freedom Rally' on July 8. Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joy took to her Twitter handle and issued a statement saying, "Canada takes its obligations under the Vienna Conventions regarding the safety of diplomats very seriously. Canada remains in close contact with Indian officials in light of some of the promotional material circulating online regarding a protest planned for July 8, which are unacceptable."
