Three Indian-origin students dead in a high-speed crash in Georgia USA

The deceased's speeding car overturned after the driver lost control and hit a tree in Alpharetta, Georgia, USA.

Three Indian-American students were killed in high speed accident in Alpharetta, Georgia, USA. As per reports, along the 3 deceased, 2 others were injured after the deceased’s speeding car overturned in Alpharetta. The deceased has been identified as Aryan Joshi, Shriya Avasrala and Anvi Sharma. All of them were 18 years old. Overspeeding is believed to be the primary factor of the fatal car crash, according to Alpharetta police. The crash occurred on May 14 on Westside Parkway just north of Maxwell Road in Alpharetta, Georgia.

Aryan Joshi was a senior at Alpharetta High School, while Shriya Avasrala and Anvi Sharma were first-year students at the University of Georgia. The injured students are Georgia State University student, Rithvak Sompalli, and Alpharetta High School senior Mohammed Liakath.

According to the police, the driver lost control of the vehicle, due to which the vehicle collided with a tree and overturned. Aryan Joshi and Shriya Avasrala were found dead on the spot. Rear passenger Anvi Sharma was later pronounced dead at the North Fulton Hospital. Police are investigating the accident, but preliminary data suggests that speed may have been a factor.

According to their educational institute’s Instagram post, Avasarala was a member of the UGA Hunter dance team and Anvi Sharma sang with an ‘a cappella group’ called the UGA Artists, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. Joshi was a senior at Alpharetta High School and a member of the school's cricket team.
