Indian students ‘died in sleep’ under suspicious circumstances; had reached US two weeks ago

Two Indian students were found dead under mysterious circumstances; family members suspect “carbon monoxide poisoning”

A student from Telangana and another from Andhra Pradesh reportedly died in their sleep merely 16 days after reaching the United States for their higher studies. Their deaths were reported to under mysterious circumstances. The two were roommates staying in the US state of Connecticut. The deceased have been identified as Gattu Dinesh, 22, and Nikesh, also in his early twenties. Dinesh was from Telangana’s Wanaparthy and Nikesh from Andhra Pradesh’s Srikakulam.

 

No official cause of death has been specified, but Dinesh’s father, Gattu Venkanna suspects that the two died from “carbon monoxide poisoning.” Their friends who lived in nearby room discovered them and promptly informed Dinesh’s family. When their friends from the area visited them, they tried to wake up the duo, but failed in their attempts. The two were rushed to the hospital where they were declared dead.

 

Dinesh had a B. tech degree from a private university in Chennai and had bagged a seat at Connecticut’s Sacred Heart University. He had completed his schooling in Alampur of Mehboobnagar district in undivided AP and higher secondary from Hyderabad. Dinesh had went to Hartford, Connecticut in the US for higher studies on December 28, 2023 while Nikesh reached a few days later. The two were mutual friends of some common friends and became roommates after going to the US.

 

According to Dinesh’s uncle Sainath, the family is aggrieved at the monumental loss. They had only dropped Dinesh off at Hydrabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport a few weeks ago. This heartbreaking news has left the family in tatters.
