Infosys techie shot dead inside Oyo hotel allegedly by boyfriend in Pune; CCTV leads to BF's arrest

In a shocking development, a woman Software Engineer working for Infosys was shot dead on Saturday night at a hotel on Pune's outskirts. The Infosys techie, 26, was allegedly shot dead by her boyfriend at an Oyo Hotel in Pimpri Chinchwad's Hinjewari area. The Police recovered a pistol and the boyfriend was arrested as well. After police received information about a firing incident, they reached the hotel and recovered the woman's body. The body was on the floor and blood stains were found in the room.

 

As per reports, the deceased Infosys techie has been identified as Vandana Dviwedi, and her boyfriend is Rishabh Nigam. Both were originally from Uttar Pradesh. Preliminary investigation has found that the two were in a relationship and an altercation led to the murder. The accused is now being questioned for more information about the tragic incident. 

 

How Vandana Dviwedi's boyfriend was caught?

 

As per reports, Vandana Dviwedi's boyfriend Rishabh was caught after the Police checked the CCTV of the hotel. Reportedly, Rishabh was caught on CCTV and it showed him exiting the room late at night. Police then started scanning vehicles at checkpoints and caught him. "The hotel room booking was done in the name of Vandana and Rishabh. So he is our prime suspect. Further probe is on," a senior Police officer was quoted saying. 

 

Vandana Dviwedi's murder reportedly occurred in room number 306 at a private hotel, on Saturday, at around 9:45 pm although police got to know about the incident the next day. During a nakabandi on Sunday, Navi Mumbai police arrested the suspect Rishabh Nigam, also a native of Lucknow, along with a pistol.

 

Vandana Dviwedi and Rishabh Nigam reportedly knew each other since 2014 and were in a relationship for some time. Recently, Nigam suspected that Dwivedi was ignoring him, and as a result, he might have killed her. However, the police said after custodial interrogation, they will ascertain the exact motive behind the murder.
