A red corner notice requests law enforcement agencies across the world to provisionally detain the person named in the notice and inform the country that has sought the notice. However, agencies are not duty-bound to act on a red corner notice.

On the other hand, a blue corner notice merely seeks information about a person's whereabouts and his/her activities.
Lately, Nithyananda has been seen in many videos giving out sermons from undisclosed locations in foreign lands.
Nithyananda fled the country last year after a rape case was registered against him in Karnataka.
