IPL Shocker: Hardik Pandya traded to Mumbai Indians, Cameron Green goes to THIS franchise

In a massive development, the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Monday confirmed that allrounder Hardik Pandya has been traded to Mumbai Indians (MI) from Gujarat Titans. On Sunday, IPL franchises shared their retained and released list of players and amid the murmurs of Hardik Pandya leaving Gujarat Titans (GT), he was shown in the list of retained players. However, in late evening on Sunday, it was again reported that Hardik Pandya had been traded to Mumbai Indians.

 

Now, IPL on its official X handle has made it official that Hardik Pandya has parted ways with Gujarat Titans and has joined 5-time champion Mumbai Indians. Furthermore, it was also revealed that the lanky Australian allrounder Cameron Green has been traded to the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) from the Mumbai Indians. 

 

Vikram Solanki, Director of Cricket of GT was quoted saying, "As the first captain of Gujarat Titans, Hardik Pandya has helped the franchise deliver two fantastic seasons that resulted in winning one IPL championship and one appearance in the final. He has now expressed a desire to return to his original team Mumbai Indians. We respect his decision and wish him all the very best in his future endeavors."

 

IPL in its official release stated that in a separate trade, MI all-rounder Cameron Green has been traded to Royal Challengers Bangalore. Green, who was bought for a whopping Rs 17,50,00,000 at the auction last December, featured in 16 matches. The Australian had an impressive start to the IPL, hitting an unbeaten century and two half-centuries while also taking six wickets. Both trades have been carried out as per the existing player fees.
