The answer is yes. Going by the taglines that the makers have used, Kerala Crime Files is inspired by a true story. As per reports, The Kerala Crime Files is based on a true story, and going by the trailer it revolves around the infamous murder mystery at the Grand Tourist Home Hotel is the inspiration for the series. However, it is pertinent to mention here that what exact case the series talks about has not been revealed yet. But, since the murder of a sex worker in the Grand Tourist Home Hotel has been mentioned, below is a case which True Scoop News has dug into-
It is to be noted that True Scoop News cannot confirm that below mentioned case is the one which the series is based on. However, the mention of hotel and sex worker is almost identical.
So what is the case?
As per reports, a Sydney sex worker named Ting Fang was found dead in an Adelaide hotel room on New Year's Day. She was allegedly murdered with a blade commonly used for window cleaning. Chungaung Piao, 27, was charged with murder after the body of Ting Fang, 25, was found in a room of the Hotel Grand Chancellor in Hindley Street in the city. The death was discovered after water flooded from the hotel room into a corridor and a room on the floor below.
True Scoop News again points out that it cannot confirm on which case Kerala Crime Files is based, however, going by the name and claims of true story, the case must be of the 'God's own country'.
