It is said that every difficulty allows you to rise. The saying sounds literally true when it comes to Israel's latest recruitment process. On Monday, a team of 15-member Israelis arrived in India for recruitment drives. Israel's recruitment drives in India focus on the hiring of skilled laborers from various parts of India. The Israel recruitment in India comes after Tel Aviv revoked the work permit of thousands of Palestinians after Hamas launched terror attacks in the country. While the Israel-Hamas war continues, the construction industry of Israel is looking for workers from India and other countries to fill the vacancies. As a result, the skilled laborers of India in multiple states especially Haryana and UP are applying for Israel Recruitment Drive in India. As per the information available, there are two states now where Israel India recruitment drive is taking place- Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. Haryana which is reportedly witnessing a high unemployment rate, released a notification of the hiring of 10,000 skilled workers in the construction field in December 2023. The laborers applying for Israel Recruitment Drive if selected will be sent to the 'war zone' country and will be paid a handsome amount of salaries.
Talking about Israel Recruitment Drive Haryana, the hiring process is scheduled from January 16 to 20, where over 10,000 candidates have shown interest to participate for roles such as bar bender, mason, tiler and stuttering carpenter with a monthly salary of Rs 1.37 lakh along with medical insurance, food, and accommodation. Not only this, a bonus of Rs 16,515 per month is also provided to these candidates.
Notably, Israel recruitment drive advertisements were published in 2023, therefore it can be said that people who missed the chance to apply for the drive may have missed the bus to Tel Aviv for now.
Following the agreement between the governments of Israel and India, the implementation protocol was signed between the Ministry of skill development and Entrepreneurship, GOI, and Population, immigration and border authority (PIBA) Israel on November 3, 2023, for the facilitation of Indian workers in the specific labor market sectors in Israel. As per the implementation protocol, the worker upon arrival will be provided with a private medical insurance document.
Talking about Israel Job hiring in UP, the government has received more than 10,000 applications there as well. The upcoming round of recruitment, organized by the Uttar Pradesh (UP) government, is scheduled from January 23 to 31. Additionally, reports suggest that the Uttarakhand government is also contemplating sending workers to meet the demand arising from Israel's construction industry.
Aligarh Zone Deputy Labour Commissioner was quoted by a portal that explained the Israel Recruitment Drive Process. Siyaram outlined the process, stating, "The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) will oversee the selection of these workers for contracts lasting one to five years. Once chosen, these workers can anticipate a monthly remuneration of approximately Rs 1,34,000. The selection process will involve NSDC interviews, and applicants, aged between 21 and 45, are required to cover their travel expenses. However, they will receive medical insurance and benefits under the Pravasi Bharatiya Bima Yojana 2017."
Siyaram further outlined, "The workers will not be deployed to war zones but to secure areas where construction projects are underway. There are no restrictions based on religion or gender for those applying for the jobs."
