Nepotism row is yet again in the limelight ever since singing sensation Rahul Vaidya nominated Jaan Kumar Sanu for elimination citing the nepotism angle. Rahul Vaidya said that he hates nepotism and therefore he is nominating Jaan Kumar Sanu.

After this, social media started to praise Rahul Vaidya for taking a stand against nepotism. Now, Jaan Kumar Sanu's mother Saloni Sanu has finally responded to the ongoing controversy.

Talking to an online web-portal Saloni said, "Is there anyone who asks a doctor when his child become a doctor, is there anyone who ask an engineer why his child became an engineer? Do they say that it is also nepotism? When an Engineer father asks his friends to keep a place for his engineer child when he/she passes out, then is that nepotism? If that is nepotism, then yes this is also nepotism as well."

"Jaan's father is a singer and I have three kids but only Jaan chose singing. Then nobody said that why the other two children did not become singers. A child follows his father's footprint. If a Doctor's son is a doctor and it is not nepotism then how this is nepotism?" added Saloni.

On being asked about favoritism, Saloni said, "Jaan participated in Big Boss on his own merits. Tell me the name of a Starkid who participated in Big Boss just to struggle. If he would have been favored then he would have been singing for big banners not participated in Big Boss. Jaan has gone to Big Boss on his own merit to make a name of his own. So I don't find nepotism and favoritism."
