With each passing day, one or two news related to immigration fraud always springs up in the news. Cases of agents duping people or cheating in the name of sending them overseas are increasing day by day in Jalandhar district. Till now, the administration has made a list of agents and the count has got up to 1320. The action against all the mentioned agents has been initiated. The agents against whom show cause notices were issued by the administration did not even have the courtesy to show up to the district administration. The administration that allows them license has now decided to take concrete action against them in order to teach them a lesson.

When the DC of Jalandhar, Jasprati Singh was approached regarding the case he said, “there is an investigation going on of the agents against whom the cases have been registered till now. Show cause notice has also been issued to the agents who have till now not responded to the complaints. If these agents will not respond to it as well, then licenses of these agents will be canceled.” He further added that the people who have a dream of going abroad should also become a little more aware. He mentioned that the people who want to travel abroad should visit the government website and find out the agents that are approved by the government so that they don’t have to suffer any problems later on.

Jalandhar is a huge hub of agents who tend to send people abroad. There are many companies who do the job related to immigration, but under them, there is also a group of fake agents working who just dupe people and fool them away. Actions have been initiated against many agents. The CP has requested the general people to be a bit aware but if they fall prey to this fraud, then should surely get a complaint registered against the same.

The Commissioner of Police, Jalandhar Gurshan Singh Sandhu said, “there is a continuous increase in the complaints of fraud in the name of going abroad, on which the police are doing its work. Just a few days back, the Commissionerate Police Jalandhar had seized 522 passports from travel agents.”
