Jalandhar Advocate found dead from a gunshot wound in his house in Basti Danishmanda area; Sikh body stage protest

In a concerning development, an Advocate and All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF) president, Parminder Singh Dhingra, was found dead at his residence with a gunshot wound on Tuesday. The incident took place in the Danishmanda area of Jalandhar. The police arrived shortly after being informed and sealed off the entire house, where Parminder Singh Dhingra’s body still lies as forensic teams begin collecting evidence.

Local Sikh organizations staged a protest demanding justice. Alleging foul play, protestors claimed the Police arrived over two hours after the reported gunshot. According to locals, Dhingra had just returned home after visiting a neighbor when a gunshot was heard. When he didn’t emerge for a long time, concerned residents alerted authorities. Officials have stated that they are investigating the case as a top priority, and forensic experts are now combing the scene for evidence. Whether the death was a suicide or murder remains unclear.

AISSF representatives, speaking to the media, revealed that Dhingra had recently celebrated his birthday and visited the Golden Temple, casting doubt on the theory of suicide. As per the information received, the police have begun questioning neighbors and family members. Meanwhile, Sikh organizations have warned of intensified protests if justice is not served swiftly.
