Shortly after Pakistan violated the ceasefire, Jalandhar Deputy Commissioner Dr Himanshu Aggarwal addressed the citizens and residents and asked them to stay calm and only trust the authenticated information.
While addressing the people of Jalandhar, DC Aggarwal mentioned that as of now, the government has not called out for a blackout, but there is the possibility that the authorities will announce a blackout if they receive any authenticated information from their intelligence sources.
The announcement by DC read, “We are receiving many queries for calling a blackout in the city or district area. Let me assure you that a blackout will be immediately called as soon as we get authenticated information from intelligence for any threat in the area.”
He furthermore asked the civilians to stay calm and not panic.
“So please maintain calm, we are regularly in touch with our Armed Forces. You may remain inside the homes as a precaution, but otherwise, there is no threat in the city as of now,” the message by DC Jalandhar read.
