In a major drug bust, the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police (CP) made major strides in taking down an international drug syndicate. The police arrested 3 of the drug syndicate’s operatives and seized nearly 48kg of heroin.
The Director General of Police, Gaurav Yadav, informed on X that the syndicate was actively involved in trans-border & inter-state drug smuggling and spread across 5 countries which include Iran, Afghanistan, Turkey, Pakistan, & Canada.The operation also included a domestic network spanning 2 states, Jammu & Kashmir and Gujarat.
As per reports, nearly ₹21 lakhs in illicit funds were confiscated, with a cash counting machine and three high-end vehicles. FIRs under NDPS Act registered and further investigation is ongoing to demolish the drug network.
