While the major political parties- AAP, Congress, BJP, and SAD-BSP alliance are busy campaigning for their candidates for the upcoming Jalandhar Byelections, late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala's father Balkaur Singh has also decided to conduct an 'Insaaf Yatra (Justice March)' for his son. The voting for the Jalandhar Byelections will be held on May 10 and therefore the political parties are going door to door in order to woo voters. Therefore, in order to remind people of the gruesome murder of Sidhu Moose Wala and the pending justice, Balkur Singh will be holding a justice march in multiple constituencies of poll-bound Jalandhar.
Recently, Balkaur Singh took to his social media handle and shared a video appealing to the people of Punjab to join the 'Insaaf Yatra' for his late son and demand justice. Furthermore, Balkaur Singh appealed to the people to come in large numbers and also shared the schedule of the Insaaf Yatra. Going by the schedule, Balkur Singh's march will start on May 5 from Bada Pind and Rurka Kalan in Phillaur at 11 am. Around 12:30 pm on the same day, the march will reach Jandiala of Jalandhar Cantt and from there it will go to Nurmahal of Nakodar at around 1:15 pm.

Why is the Jalandhar by-election important for each contesting political party?
For the past 10 days, political parties like the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Congress, BJP, and SAD-BSP alliance have been busy campaigning for the lone Jalandhar seat which is considered to be a Congress stronghold. On April 5, former Congress MLA Sushil Rinku joined AAP and the very next day he was announced as the candidate for the ruling Aam Aadmi Party. Congress has declared Karamjit Kaur as its official candidate for the upcoming By-polls. Karamjit Kaur is the wife of the late Santokh Singh Chaudhary who was previously the MP of Jalandhar constituency from 2014. Notably, it was the death of MP Chaudhary during Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra which opened doors for the Jalandhar By-Election 2023. BJP announced Inder Atwal, former SAD leader as its candidate, while the alliance of SAD-BSP announced two-time MLA Dr Sukhwinder Kumar Sukhi as its candidate.
