Congress councillor of ward number 64 Sushil Kalia alias Vicky close aide of MLA Bawa Henry in Jalandhar, died hours later he consumed poison. It only came to the notice of his family members and relatives after his condition started to deteriorate and was soon rushed to the hospital.
The doctors started his treatment at the earliest but, couldn't save him, earlier while interacting with the media his relatives said that his condition was critical.
Last year, the police registered a case of corruption against Sushil Kalia, the special person of the Henry family, his son Anshuman and relatives. Sushil Kalia and his family members were accused of misuse of MLA funds. Sushil Kalia had taken bail from the Punjab Haryana High Court in the case, but his son did not get bail from the High Court. After this, the matter of bail reached the Supreme Court, but there was no relief granted.
