Jalandhar DC Ghanshyam Thori has issued new guidelines regarding the opening of shops in the district. According to the new guidelines, shops in the district will now remain open till 8 p.m.
For lockdown on Sunday, all the shops will remain closed except for the essential services.
Notably, to curb the spread of coronavirus in the state, CM Capt Amarinder Singh has announced weekend lockdown.

The National Disaster Management Act, 2005, and the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897 have already been invoked by the Government of India and the Government of Punjab in view of the seriousness of the COVID 19 epidemic.
