Jalandhar: DC Office Employees Union Head booked for harassing female employee; Read FIR

Police have filed case against DC Office Employees Union Head under section 186, 354, 506 and 509 of Indian Penal Code.

As per information that has surfaced in Jalandhar, a female employee has registered complaints against head of DC Office Staff Union. On the basis of case filed, accused is booked under a non-bailable warrant for harassing, stalking, humiliating and stalking a woman. The complainant is identified as Manmeet Gupta and accused id Pawan Kumar Verma.

Reportedly, Manmeet Gupta works as a reader in Naib Tehsildar Office. She revealed in her complaint registered that Pawan Kumar harasses as well as mentally tortures her through various means. She added that accused makes video of hers without permission, follows her sometimes and passes weird comments. “When I am not on my seat, he comes there and starts checking my work as well as recors,” she stated.

The tiff between Manmeet Gupta and Pawan Kumar started from a message that was sent by accused through WhatsApp. Pawan Kumar sent a message in employees’ group that females in office tend to leak information by telling it to media personnel. This message angered Manmeet and she got into heated argument with accused saying that it uncalled to send such kind of unnecessary messages. Soon after this Pawan Kumar started harassing her and making her feel uncomfortable.

Earlier also a complaint against Pawan Kumar was submitted in Naib Tehsildaar after which the fight between both of them grew. For now, on basis of Manmeet’s complaint and statement police have filed case against DC Office Employees Union Head under section 186, 354, 506 and 509 of Indian Penal Code.
