He belongs to a Dalit family and is from one of the biggest political clans of Punjab. He did schooling from D.A.V. Higher Sec. School, Chandigarh; B.A. from D.A.V. College, Jalandhar and LLB from Punjab University.
5. Anurag Thakur
Anurag Singh Thakur is an Indian politician from the Bharatiya Janata Party and a Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha from Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh. He has done his bachelors B.A. degree from Doaba College, Jalandhar, Punjab. He has his family business in Jalandhar. His father was a lecturer in Doaba College Jalandhar. On January 19, 2019 he became the first Member of Parliament from Bharatiya Janata Party to be awarded the Sansad Ratna Award, an award established in 2010 by private organisations for recognizing contributions by parliamentarians.
