Jalandhar Improvement Trust case: Recommendation to file case against former chairman, EO and senior assistant
Chief Vigilance Officer Rajiv Sekhri submits report to the Chief Secretary for further actions
On March 23, the Vigilance Department raided the Jalandhar Improvement Trust. Twenty important files were seized by the Chief Vigilance Officer. The trust's executive officer was then summoned, along with 30 files. However, despite sending reminders, many files related to important case investigations were not received. In a month and a half, the Chief Vigilance Officer completed the investigation, which revealed several irregularities. Such as plot allocation and LDP in Surya Enclave. There were plots, non-construction charges, missing dispatch registers, and other anomalies discovered.
The case has named former chairman Daljit Singh Ahluwalia, EO Parminder Singh, and senior assistant Ajay Malhotra as suspects. As a result, it was suggested that the Chief Secretary file nominations for all. The report for further action has been submitted to the Chief Secretary, according to Chief Vigilance Officer Rajiv Sekhri. Former chairman Daljit Singh Ahluwalia was found to have abused his power, according to the investigation. The government has lost money as a result of the illegal allocation of LDP plots in Surya Enclave. Parminder Gill, the EO, and Ajay Malhotra, the Senior Assistant, both played crucial roles.
Unusualities were discovered after investigating these cases
The dispatch register was discovered to be missing between 2014 and 2020. Plant No. 456 in Master Tara Singh Nagar cost Rs. 5.5 crore when it was purchased, but it was sold for a lower price. Twenty expensive LDP quota plots were taken out at a low cost in the Surya Enclave extension. This is a massive ruse. The Punjab Government has cancelled the allotment of the Kapurthala Check Market and has requested that the Town Improvement Trust register it. Plot 15 in Gopal Nagar received a 50 lakh notice for non-payment of the non-construction charge, and the NOC was issued without payment. Non-construction charges of Rs.87 lakh and CLU of Rs.30 lakh were not collected in Plot No. 6 in the same area.

The councillor bought the employee's plot
In 1988, the trust assigned the plot to the senior assistant. Following this, Amarjit was assigned Plot No. 1424, which is currently pending in the High Court. Regardless, the former chairman uses his position and gave the plot to Councilor Rohan Sehgal. The employee informed Headquarters and Vigilance about the situation. The files were requested by Vigilance in order to examine the documents, but the trust officials did not show up. As a result, the former chairman has been given notice by the board of directors.
