Jalandhar jammed again: On one hand protestors jam PAP chowk for postponement of elections; On the other ECI to discuss the postponement

If you come to Jalandhar district of Punjab today, be careful. The  Ravidasiya community has jammed the highway at PAP Chowk in Jalandhar, for this people of the community had started gathering at the square. This jam will be from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Ravidasiya society says that the election date which has been fixed by the Election Commission on February 14, has not been fixed keeping in front of Sri Guru Ravidas Jayanti.

They also have to see the arrangements for the sangat coming from all over the country there. A day or two before Ravidas Jayanti from Jalandhar, special Begumpura Express train leaves for Banaras carrying Ravidassia community. In such a situation, they will not be able to exercise their vote in the election.



Please note that due to the jam, travellers going from Delhi to Amritsar, Jammu Katra Pathankot via Jalandhar by road can be troubled at PAP Chowk. Traffic going from Katra Jammu Pathankot to Delhi via Jalandhar Ludhiana and Amritsar to Ludhiana Delhi side will not be able to pass through PAP Chowk. Vehicles going from Pathankot to Delhi-Ludhiana will have to take the Via Hoshiarpur route.

 
The people of Amritsar will also have to enter the city from Maqsoodan. To go to the city from Jalandhar, you have to go via Cantt. Those coming from Hoshiarpur side will have to make long entry via Jandu Singha the flyover beyond Pathankot Chowk, they will have to travel further via Lamba Pind and Janisingha-Ramamandi.
