In a massive development, the bail plea of Jalandhar Central MLA Raman Arora on Friday was rejected by a local court. Raman Arora has been in judicial custody for nearly a month. He was arrested following a case registered against him on corruption charges.
Along with Arora, the bail applications of his relative (samdhi) Raju Madaan and Municipal Corporation Inspector Harpreet Kaur were also under consideration by the court today. All three were seeking relief in connection with their alleged involvement in the same case. After hearing arguments, the court dismissed the bail applications. Now, they have to approach the Punjab and Haryana High Court for further legal remedy.
Raman Arora was arrested by the Vigilance Bureau (VB) at his residence. He has been accused of conniving with officials of the Municipal Corporation by sending across fake notices of violations of norms and blackmailing people.
