Jalandhar, July 12: Following the directions of the Punjab Government, the Model Town Sewa Kendra in Jalandhar will now remain open for 12 continuous hours—from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM—starting July 14. The center will be operational for six days a week, i.e. Monday to Saturday.
Sharing this information, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal stated that this extended timing will greatly benefit the general public, especially working individuals or those occupied with other commitments during the day. Previously, many people were unable to avail services after getting free from work by 5 PM, as the center used to be closed. Now, they will be able to access the services until 8 PM.
The Deputy Commissioner added that people who faced difficulty visiting the Sewa Kendra during the day due to work or other obligations can now get their tasks done either in the morning or evening. He urged the public to take full advantage of the extended hours and reach out directly to the Sewa Kendra for any inquiries.
It is worth mentioning that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is offering over 400 services in a smooth and transparent manner through these Sewa Kendras. These include Aadhaar services, birth and death certificates, caste, income, and residence certificates, marriage certificates, pensions, and many more.
