Jalandhar MP Sushil Rinku joins rescue op in flood-affected areas of Phillaur; evacuates new-born by himself

Jalandhar MP Sushil Rinku visited villages situated between Shahkot and Lohian Khas where rescue teams were evacuating the people stranded due to a flood-like situation.

Leading from the front, the newly-elected MP of Jalandhar, Sushil Rinku on Monday joined the rescue operation team in their evacuation drive in flood-affected areas of Phillaur. Jalandhar MP Sushil Rinku visited villages situated between Shahkot and Lohian Khas where rescue teams were evacuating the people stranded due to a flood-like situation. Sushil Rinku joined hands with the rescue team and helped the people there in safe evacuation. One of the pictures indeed caught everyone's attention, in which Sushil Rinku was seen carrying an infact in his arms while an elderly lady crossing the inundated area. Apart from Sushil Rinku, DC of Jalandhar, Vishesh Sarangal was also present at the spot. Notably, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann on Monday took to his Twitter handle and appealed to the people of the State to not panic. CM Mann also assured the people that the Government of Punjab will provide every assistance for those who will be affected by flood-like situations.

Notably, a high-level meeting was called by the Chief Secretary of Punjab Anurag Verma of officers of all departments. Not only higher officials, but Regional officers also connected through Video Conferences. Notably, Punjab's Chief Secretary in his order had stated that the officers of all the departments including police, power, administration, and agriculture must be present to address the flood threat and the state's preparedness to counter it. While there were videos and pictures going viral on social media showing Punjab awaiting for devastating flood, Jalandhar MP Sushil Rinku showcased what is the difference between a politician and a leader.
