Jalandhar, on Thursday morning, was hit by torrential rainfall that brought huge relief for people from the intense and humid summer. However, on Friday, since the morning, residents of Jalandhar witnessed the sun coming out and an intense summer comeback once again. While a temperature rise is expected in Jalandhar on June 27 during the daytime, multiple areas will undergo an electricity outage for at least 6.5 hours today.
As per information received, a major power shutdown has been scheduled in Jalandhar today. It is due to planned maintenance work on the 11KV Mandi Road Feeder and 11KV Railway Road Feeder. The electricity supply will remain suspended from 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
The power cut will affect several key areas of the city, including Santoshi Nagar, Qazi Mandi, Mandi Road, Rishi Nagar, Partap Road, Bhagat Singh Chowk, Railway Road, Inderprasth Mohalla, BDS Nagar, Dhan Mohalla, and BKB, which fall under both feeders.
The outage is part of preventive maintenance aimed at improving infrastructure reliability. Electricity is expected to remain off for the entire duration, unless restoration is completed earlier than scheduled.
