Jalandhar: Robbers wearing helmets escape with gold worth with Rs 11 lakh in broad daylight; Watch

Jalandhar: Robbers wearing helmets took a young man hostage in a house in Deep Nagar of Jalandhar Cantt and escaped with gold worth about Rs 11 lakhs in broad daylight.

Jalandhar: Robbers wearing helmets took a young man hostage in a house in Deep Nagar of Jalandhar Cantt and escaped with gold worth about Rs 11 lakhs in broad daylight. Jagrut told that he was alone at home in the morning, his mother had gone to school and the maternal grandmother had gone to Gurudwara Sahib. 

Two youths wearing helmets entered through the open gate.  They were also wearing masks. "They asked me to come inside. Then one of them caught me and started questioning me about the valuable things kept in the house. When I did not tell them anything, they tied my hands and feet and put tape on my mouth," he said. 

The robbers got a call from another man, on which the third person said that he was standing outside. By the time he was talking on the phone Jagrut said he somehow managed to escape by freeing his hands and jumped from the neighbours' roof and came out. By then the robbers ran away with about Rs 11 to 12 Lakhs worth of ornaments. Police were informed which was now investigating the case.

The police officer who reached the spot told that as soon as the information was received, he immediately reached the spot. So far no the have not found any CCTV footage. The police have registered a case on the statement of the boy and a search is on to arrest the robbers.
