In view of Bhagat Kabir Ji’s Prakash Utsav and the grand procession (Shobha Yatra) being organized by various religious groups, the Jalandhar administration has imposed a strict ban on the sale of eggs, meat, and alcohol for two days to maintain law and order and protect religious sentiments.
Additional District Magistrate Amaninder Kaur announced the prohibition, exercising powers under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Code 2023, Section 54 of the Punjab Excise Act 1914, and Rule 9 of the Punjab Licensing Rules 1956.

- Dates: The ban will be in effect on June 10 and June 11, 2025.
Locations
- On June 10, the ban applies around Bhagat Kabir Ji’s temple and along the route of the Shobha Yatra, where the procession will begin.
- On June 11, the restriction will continue along the entire route of the procession and in the vicinity of the temple.
The order has been issued to ensure communal harmony and respect for religious sentiments during the festival. All shops selling eggs, meat, and alcohol in the specified areas are required to remain closed on these dates. The administration has warned that strict action will be taken against anyone violating the order.
The district authorities have appealed to the public and business owners to cooperate and help maintain peace and decorum during the celebrations of Bhagat Kabir Ji’s Prakash Utsav.
