A video has gone viral from Jalandhar where Class 4th employees have staged a dharna against the Municipal Corporation commissioner for their pending payments. The employees while staging the protest said that they have not received the money for uniforms for the last three years. They further added that the money is due from the year 2019, despite numerous requests to the commissioner, no attention is being paid to their demands.

On Thursday, the employees gathered outside the office of the Municipal Corporation’s commissioner and started raising slogans to get their demands met. While staging the protest, employees were stopped by the police from entering the commissioner’s office. The police personnel were not able to stop them as the protesters entered the office premises after pushing the police to the side. Post this, the employees sat outside the office of Commissioner Davinder Singh in the corridor.

One of the employees said that as it is a festive season, even they hope to get some money so that they can celebrate their festivals as well. The employees said that the money they get for the uniforms is their right, but the municipal commissioner is trying to deprive them of their entitlement as well.

In the video, employees can be seen raising slogans against the commissioner and he can be seen running away from the crowd trying to avoid them.
