Harivallabh Sangeet Sammelan, the annual grand classical music conference is a unique and ancient musical example in the country where eminent personalities from the field of classical music showcase their various art forms. This year the 147th edition of Shree Harivallabh Sangeet Sammelan started off four days back. The Sammelan witnessed budding classical artists from across the whole country. It took place in the Devi Talab Mandir of Jalandhar city on Friday. President of the Sabha, Purnima Beri, Director SS Azimal, General Secretary Deepak Bali, also attended the sammelan.
The performances went on till 12:30 pm at night. It started with the Mangal Dhwani of shehnai performed by Bhaskar Nath. He showcased Puriya Kalyan and Mishra Khamaj ragas. He was accompanied by Ustad Athar Hussain on tabla and Bhagwat on shehnai. It was followed by dhrupad recital by Dr. Madhu Bhatt Tailang who performed Hans Kinkani raga, followed by a composition of Swami Haridas. Shri Baba Harivallabh Sangeet Sammelan for this great work and said that this unprecedented initiative is a symbol of music in modern times which is a shining example of our rich heritage. The main of this sammelan is that this flow of music should always continue and playing a leading role in the expansion of classical music, connect new generations with joyful music.
The attended of Shri Baba Harivallabh Sangeet Sammelan enjoyed the melodious rendition of 'Pakhwaj' by Pandit Praveen Kumar Arya along with co-artists Chhavi Joshi, Aishwarya Arya and harmonium player Pandit Munna Lal Bhatt. Many celebrities including Olympian Surinder Singh Sodhi, District Planning Board Chairman Amritpal Singh were present on the occasion.
This year the Shri Baba Harivallabh Sangeet Sammelan was grand as last two years it was done in smaller areas and population due to COVID guidelines. This year it was attended by Ajeet group owner Barjinder Singh Hamdard, Rajya Sabha member Balbir Singh Seechewal and Lovely group member Ramesh Mittal.
